Our Story
A Family Story, From Italy to Zanzibar
Baladin Zanzibar was established in 2018 by Nicole Pavlin and her husband Rachid.
It is a family-run hotel built around a simple idea of hospitality: warm, personal and relaxed, on one of Zanzibar’s loveliest beaches.

- 1986
Teo Musso founded Le Baladin Pub in Piozzo, Italy – the beginning of the wider Baladin story.
- 2008
Nicole opened Riad Baladin Hotel in Essaouira, Morocco.
- 2018
Nicole Pavlin and her husband Rachid launched Baladin Zanzibar on the beach at Michamvi.
